The AFCM Ministry started in Finland with a one-day retreat led by Fr.Soji Olikkal and team on May 18th, 2019. We got permission from the then Bishop of Helsinki, Bishop Teemu Sippo for the AFCM retreats and activities in Finland. The Bishop appointed Fr. Rafal Czernia, parish priest of St. Mary's church, Helsinki as our pastoral co-ordinator.
Fr. Soji Olikkal appointed Br. Ani John, UK in charge to co-ordinate the activities in Finland. We started bimonthly one-day retreats led by AFCM, UK team during 2019 and Fr. Shyju Naduvathaniyil, Br. Saju Varghese, and Br. Sebastian Sales led those retreats. Br. Roy Thachil & Lily Thachil, AFCM, USA visited us, along with Br. Ani John and Rosmy Tom, Stockhol and conducted an evening prayer meeting at St. Mary's church, Helsinki.
We also started adoration before the Blessed Sacrament for 1.5 hours at St. Mary's church, Helsinki on alternate months as a follow up to those who attended the on
e-day retreat. Another rosary prayer & Bible study group has been started on Mondays this year during lock-down period in St. Mary's church, Helsinki for those who attended the one-day retreats and want to grow spiritually.
